FerpècleClimate monitors the Swiss Ferpècle glacier to map the impact of climate change on the alpine ecosystem. Using advanced technologies such as drone photogrammetry, multi-spectral sensors and 3D modelling, we collect close-sequence data on glacier melt, changes in flora and impacts on local communities.
Our project translates complex scientific insights into acces-sible, visual tools. These dynamic visualization’s make the urgency of climate change visible and support policymakers, researchers and the public in taking action. The Ferpècle glacier thus serves as a living laboratory for climate research.
